Kim and Leigh at Hakunamatata Part I

Posted in Casalinga, Hakunamatata, Wedding Venues, Weddings by kimwelsford on December 8, 2008

I had the pleasure of second shooting for Andrea Carlyle last Friday. I must say that I had a great time working with her.

The couple, Kim and Leigh, had their wedding service in a beautiful  rustic old chapel at a venue called Casalinga (definitely worth checking out). The reception took place at Hakunamatata a couple of kilometers away.

The photo shoot of the gorgeous wedding couple took place at a couple of different locations on route to the reception venue.

Here is one of the last shots I took just before we headed of for the party.

Kim and Leigh – you guys were FAB!!!

I know that I have been neglecting my blog (I seem to be running out of hours in the day).  So here is another photo from the wedding at Oakfield Farm.  I love this photo so I thought I would quickly add it to my post before  I head out to do a wedding at the  The Moon and Sixpence.

I promise there will be more photos soon!!!

I photographed Natasha and Barney’s wedding a couple of weeks back.  The wedding took place at Oakfield Farm - a beautiful venue situated in the Muldersdrift area in Johannesburg.

Natasha and Barney, you guys were great fun – your wedding was absolutely magical.  It’s wonderful to see a couple that are so obviously in love and so eagerly looking forward to their future together.

I will post a few more photos from your wedding soon – promise…

Marisa and Werner at Forum Homini Part I

Posted in Forum Homini, Wedding Venues, Weddings by kimwelsford on November 19, 2008

This past weekend I got to photograph Marisa and Werner’s wedding at Forum Homini. The Forum is a stunning venue and definitely worth checking out.

For a change it didn’t rain and instead we were faced with very bright afternoon sunlight.  I think the strong light worked really well the strong contrast of the stone walls (in my humble opinion that is).

Dror was kind enough to second shoot for me (lucky Marisa and Werner) and he has posted some great photos on his blog.

I will be posting more photos soon but I hope you guys enjoy these wedding photos for now …

Yuko and Adam at Glenshiel Part II

Posted in Glenshiel, Wedding Venues, Weddings by kimwelsford on November 5, 2008

I finished Yuko and Adam’s wedding photos this morning.  We did the private shoot amongst the roses with a magnificent Jacaranda tree in full bloom as a backdrop – STUNNING!.  These wedding photos were taken 10 – 15 minutes before the thunder storm started so we had beautiful wrap-around lighting to work in.

Enjoy the photos …

Yuko and Adam at Glenshiel

Posted in Glenshiel, Wedding Venues, Weddings by kimwelsford on October 27, 2008

Sorry everyone, I know I have been neglecting my blog site lately as the wedding season has been keeping me very busy.

Last weekend I photographed Yuko and Adam’s wedding, which was held at Glenshiel in Westcliff.  Glenshiel is a stunning building which dates back to 1910 (which is pretty old in South African terms).  The ceremony took place in the garden - which was of some concern as there was a 60% chance of rain.  Luckily the ceremony took place just before the sky’s opened, which was great for me as the pre-storm light was perfect for the photographs

Here are a few photos from the ceremony …

Rod and Brigitte at Avianto

Posted in Avianto, Wedding Venues, Weddings by kimwelsford on October 16, 2008

I second shot for Dror this weekend at Avianto.  Rod and Brigitte were fantastic to work with and very obviously in love.

I love wedding photograhy and meeting wonderful people like Rod and Brigitte is an added bonus.

Here are a few wedding photos from the day.  The first two photos were not photographed in the traditional Avianto setting …
